Benny Ray Spicer

Benny Ray Spicer, 75, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away May 24, 2016 at his residence. He was born September 15, 1940 in Oakdale, KY, to the late Wilton Spicer and Elma (Lutes) Spicer. Benny is survived by his niece, Heather Herald; great nephew, Justin Herald; and great niece, Melody Herald. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Sue Marquis.

Benny had a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and a M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from MIT. He worked in Engineering Analysis and Development at Naval Avionics and Raytheon. After retirement in 2000, he aided the Mt. Zion Bible Institute prison ministry by grading bible lessons, and was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 3:00 pm with visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of service at Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 W. 300 S., New Palestine, IN. Arrangements are being handled by Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 W US Hwy 52, Fountaintown, IN.
