Ronald "Ron" Ordelheide, 65, of New Palestine, IN, wonderful husband and father, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021 in Indianapolis.
Ron was born August 18, 1955 in Burbank, California to Roland and Violet Ordelheide. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for 5 years working in crypto communication. He spent his career in communication, radar applications and managing labs for Hughes and Raytheon. He retired to continue working on his dream to have his own business in awards and recognition. He was married February 7, 1981 to Sandra MacDonald Ordelheide. Together they raised two sons, Robert and Jacob.
Ron loved to be involved with community organizations and was great resource to others who met him. He was actively involved with the American Legion, in many positions and always promoting the American Legion programs. Ron was active with the New Palestine Chamber of Commerce, on the Sugar Creek Fire Department merit board and in the past was involved with New Palestine Lion's Club and Indian Guides with YMCA in Diamond Bar, California. You would always see him stopping to talk with someone he knew. The one thing he is remembered for most was his smile.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Violet June Schroeder Ordelheide, and his father Roland Fredrick Ordelheide. He is survived by his wife Sandra, two boys Robert and Jacob, his sister Joan, brother Bobby, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
