Nancy May Obituary

Nancy J. May, 75, passed away on Friday, October 15th, 2021.  On August 11th, 1946, she was born in Richmond, Indiana, to John and Gladys (Miller) Langley.  There she grew up with her siblings John Langley, Charles Langley, and Frances (Langley) Williams.   In 1962 she married Colson May, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage before Colson’s passing in 2018.  Colson and Nancy had four children Edward May, Colson Duane May, Charles Jody May, and Francine (May) Bodell.  She was also guardian over Jonathan, her eldest grandson.  Nancy worked as a bus driver for many years within the Carmel Clay School district.  With the last several years driving special needs children, which she adored, before retiring.

Nancy or better known as Janey was a loving and giving person.  Always ensuring her family had all that she could provide.  Even if it meant working 2-3 jobs while still making sure the house and kids were attended to.  Her children and grandchildren were very special to her, and she loved them dearly.

Janey was a devout Christian and long-time member of the Evanston Wesleyan Church in Indianapolis.  She loved music and singing and was often found leading the congregation in the Sunday hymns.  She formed many unbreakable bonds within the church, and the Evanston Wesleyan community was an important part of her life.

Later in life, she loved to spoil her great-grandkids, watch TV (never missed an episode of Law and Order), and spend time with her daughter-in-law, Tammy May.  Tammy, Eddie, and Jody were her caregivers and helped make her final years possible.

Nancy is survived by her loving children: Eddie (Tammy) May and Jody May. Grandchildren: Jonathan (Michelle) May, Jessica Bodell, Cole Bodell, Tommy May, Kaitlyn England, and Chloe Perez.  Great-grandchildren: Ashlyn, Maci, Elijah, Aliyah, Kyle, and Lily. Siblings: John Langley, Charles Langley, and Frances Williams.
