Rev. Michael R. Monk, 74, of South Portsmouth, KY, passed away on October 9, 2020 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on December 17, 1945. Survivors include wife, Cora S. Monk; Son, Aaron Monk; Daughters, Cheryl Brown, Holly (Jimmy) Jordan, Michele (Chad) Brown, Christi (Richard) Guynn; Stepdaughters, Carol (Kevin) Nicely, Cathy (Larry) Marion. He was preceded in death by parents Sherman and Helen Monk; brother, Mark Monk; Great Granddaughter, Carlie Jordyn Bauer. He had thirteen Grandchildren and nineteen Great Grandchildren.
Michael served in the U.S. Navy and served as President of "A Place Called Hope". Over the past 45 years, Michael planted many churches, pastored, traveled as an evangelist, and won many souls for the Kingdom of God! He was known as an encourager, had a heart to minister to pastors and always had “A Word In Season”.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Church, 7065 East County Road 400 North, Brownsburg, IN 46112. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service at the church. Officiating the service will be Bishop Duane Chassie.
Burial will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
