William Boyd Land

William Boyd “Watermelon Man” Land, 72, of Indianapolis, IN passed away December 10, 2019. He was born in Lee County, Virginia to parents Maxine (Howard) and Claude M. Land. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Land; sons, James Alley Claudious (Shirley) Land, Jonathon Wells, David Smith; daughters, Angela Diener, Tara Hendrickson; sisters, Rhonda Crosley, Jean Mundy; twelve grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters and brothers.

William served in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He was retired from York Water & Sewer. William enjoyed selling watermelons and telling jokes.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, 2310 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Services will be held Monday, December 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Tara Hendrickson.  Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
