Vernon D. Schmidt

Vernon D. Schmidt , 56, of  Connersville, IN passed away Monday, December 9, 2013. Vernon was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 18, 1957, the son of  Myrtle Carol (Smith) McGuire and Tim McGuire
Vernon had started his carreer at White Castle, opened his own service company, "Schmidt and Sons"; continued working in the appliance Industry with H H Greg, Maytag, Benner Mechanical and currently worked as Operations Manager at Clark Appliance in Indianapolis. Vernon authored a NY Times best seller "The Appliance Handbook". Besides being a loving devoted family man, spent his life enjoying tailgating, attending Colts games, fishing, hunting and being "on call" for his family and friends. Vernon is a Junior Deacon with the Liberty Masonic Lodge #58 and also an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his wife, L. Kathy Bridenhager Schmidt; mother,  Mrytle McGuire; father, Tim McGuire; sons, Jesse (Amanda) Schmidt and Vernon (Shannon) Schmidt; daughters, April Mueller, Tamika (Brad) Larrieu, Angel (Clyde) McPeak and Melissa (Rob) Thomas; grandchildren, Joseph, Kayla, James, Bailey, Dalton, Blake, Aaron, Andrew, Seth, Trinity, McKinley, Grant, Rhys and Lola; sisters, Marcy (Steve) Calvin, Laura (Stan) Bryan, Moneta (Mike) Curry and Cathy (Joe) Fitzgerald; step brothers; Shawn and Matt McGuire; sister-in-laws, Paulette (Dic) Worcester, Mary (Jack) Haberthier, Laura (Tim) Daniel and Margaret (Kevin) Jackson; mother-in-law, Lillian F. Bridenhager; step children; Nicole (Alex) Harcourt, Doug (Megan) Whiting, Christina (Scott) Winzenread and Brittany (Michael) Niland and step grandchildren, Ethan, Caden and Landon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm with a 7:00pm Masonic Service at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel with Service on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:30 am at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made at Liberty Lodge #58, 17 S. Marktet Street, Liberty, IN 47353.
