Vanessa Dale Merrill

Vanessa Dale Merrill, 72, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away July 30, 2025 in New Palestine, IN. She was born on July 25,1953 in Auburn, New York.

Survivors include husband, Richard L. Merrill; sons, Todd Richard (Amy) Merrill, Jordan (Promise) Merrill, Ryan Merrill, Cameron Merrill; daughters, Bridgett (Jim) Cauley, Autumn (Quentin) Nemitz; sisters Bambi (Mark) Johnson, Valerie (Stuart) Merrill; brother, Jeffrey Sinn; 29 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents Barbara & Gerry Sinn; grandsons James & Matthew Cauley.

Vanessa was a devout Christian who loved God and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She cherished time with her grandkids and especially loved baking with them. Vanessa was very active and enjoyed doing Zumba “with the girls.” She never backed down from any physical activity, including hiking the Colorado mountains with her children. As a devoted preacher’s wife, moving often, she made it her mission (and joy) to make every house a home- designing & decorating with the latest trends. She took that skill into her real estate business where she made others’ homes special too. Vanessa loved fashion & shopping of every kind, often picking out thoughtful gifts for those she loved. Her motto was “shop til you drop!” Her joy and love for life and her family will be missed beyond measure.

She will be buried at New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine, IN with a Memorial Service in Colorado Springs. Officiating will be Todd Merrill.
