Thelma Schreiber passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on March 18, 2012 at the age of 85. She lived in Converse Texas for more than 20 years where she was active in local affairs and occupied a seat on the Planning and Zoning Commission until a series of strokes took away her independence. She enjoyed travel, politics, gardening and any meal she didn't have to cook. She loved her cats and dogs and her home was always full of rescued stray animals. She was and is now again a free spirit who will be forever missed. She was an only child and was preceded in death by her parents, Lovie and Amos Davis, and her loving husband Ralph H. Schreiber Jr. She is survived by her 5 children Martin Schreiber (Patty), Janice Thomson, Alan Schreiber (Elaine), Karen Barajas, and Gina Schreiber, 15 grandchildren, and 9 (soon to be 10) great-grandchildren. There will be a private memorial in Greencastle Indiana on March 21, with graveside services and interrment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetary at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her honor to the Animal Defense League, 11300 Nacogdoches Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78217, or the charity of your choice.
