Stuart Douglas Fordyce

Jun 27, 1956 — Oct 24, 2026

Indianapolis, Indiana

Stuart Douglas Fordyce passed away on October 24, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on June 27, 1956, in Longbeach, California.

Stuart worked as a trim carpenter, a trade that reflected skill, patience, and a craftsman’s eye for detail. He earned his high school diploma and carried those steady values with him throughout his life. Outside of work, he enjoyed woodworking, movies, and survival tactics. These interests spoke to both his practical nature and his appreciation for creativity, problem-solving, and time spent doing what he enjoyed most.

Above all, Stuart loved his children. That love was a defining part of his life and will remain central to the memories held by those who knew him best.

He is survived by his sons, Connor Fordyce and Nicholas Fordyce, and by his daughter, Amanda Fordyce. He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Fordyce and Cathy Maddox. They carry forward his memory with love and gratitude for the time they shared with him.

Stuart was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Fordyce; his parents, Paul and Betty Fordyce; and his grandparents, Dewey and Pearl Fordyce and Ray and Mary Wachsmuth.

He will be remembered with affection by his family and by all who knew him. His life, his work, and his love for his children leave a lasting impression that will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of Stuart's life will be held at a later date.
