Shirley Eileen Griffith

Shirley Eileen Poyner Griffith, passed away on September 8, 2026, in Franklin, Indiana at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life. She was born on August 17, 1945, in Leeton, Missouri.

Shirley will be remembered as a devoted homemaker who cared deeply for her family and home. She attended high school in Morgantown and was a member of Morgantown United Methodist Church. She also attended Gracepoint Church in Whiteland. In her leisure time, she enjoyed Nascar racing and loved both gospel music and country music, interests that brought her much happiness throughout her life.

Above all, Shirley’s life was centered on family. She is survived by her son, Justin Griffith; her daughters, Tina (Dennis) Zurcher and Sonya Boyd. She is also survived by her brother, Cecil Poyner, and by her grandsons, Jerrod Griffith, Dalton Boyd, and Connor Boyd. May their memories of Shirley bring comfort and peace in the days ahead.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Griffith; her daughter, Michelle Griffith; her son-in-law, Jon Boyd; her father, Everett Poyner; her mother, Gladys (Tompkins) Poyner; and her niece, Jennifer Bennett.

Visitation will be held on September 17, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Gracepoint Church, 330 Whiteland Road, Whiteland, Indiana 46184. A memorial service officiated by Dow Boyer is also scheduled at Gracepoint Church, 330 Whiteland Road, Whiteland, Indiana 46184, on September 17, 2026,  at 6:00 p.m
