Shirley Dukehubbard

Shirley passed from this life on November 13, 2009 at Brownsburg Meadows of complications from breast cancer. She was born December 8, 1937 in Caraway, Arkansas. Shirley graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1956. She married Paul A. Hubbard in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1994. After retirement as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the IUPUI School of Dentistry, she made her home in Ely, Minnesota. In her retirement years, she enjoyed tax preparation for H & R Block, golfing, traveling and serving as the Eagle's Nest Township Clerk. She was a member of the Ely Baptist Church. Shirley is survived by three children, KevinAnnHubbard of Ely, Minnesota, JaySharonHubbard of Coolville, Ohio, TriciaBrittenThomsen of Laird, Saskatchewan, Canada; and niece, DanaWilliamShoaf of Lizton, who was her special care giver. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Karen, Tamara and Megan; two brothers, John and Carl. She was preceded in death by mother Vivian; father, Elmer; step-mother, LaVern; brother, Rick; sister, Linda; and faithful canine companion, Cici. At Shirley's request there will be on funeral; however, there will be a Memorial Service.
