Shabazz Pharu Stubbs (Bazz ~ Worth ~ Napkin ~ Snoop ~ PJs) 42, was born to Janetta Morrison (Hedrick) and Timothy Burnett on June 6, 1972. Growing up Shabazz loved sports, playing cards and dancing. Shabazz and his siblings had a bond like no other. They fought hard but loved even harder. A few years after graduating from Warren Central High School, Shabazz enlisted in the United States Army for a short period of time. He became homesick….he wanted to stay close to his mother. Yes, Shabazz was momma’s baby! Everywhere Shabazz went there was laughter and he really enjoyed the company of his family and friends. If you put on a Michael Jackson or Toni Braxton song that was it...Bazz was up dancing! He had a kind heart especially for children.
Shabazz and Nikeenya were married on June 2, 2012 and have stuck together like glue for the last 20 years! Though Shabazz first become ill years ago, he fought a long battle. His heart was that strong; many did not know just how much he suffered. But NO MORE, Bazz is in the hands of the Almighty God, free of pain. Shabazz transitioned to be with the Lord on the evening of February 21 st , 2015. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: Wife, Nikeenya Stubbs, Step-children Marcus Cousins and Lorean Florence , Step grandson Lemetrius Florence, Parents Janetta Morrison-Hedrick, Timothy Burnett, Siblings Terance Stubbs and Shawn Stubbs Freeman (John), Grandmother Lorine Smith and Maddie Burnett, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all.
Celebration of Life Services will be on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11:30am at Mt. Zion Apostolic Church, 4900 East 38th Street, Indianapolis, with visitation from 10:00am at the church.
Burial will be in New Crown Cemetery, Indianapolis.
Arrangements handled by Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel.
