Scott Carpenter, 62, passed away on January 7, 2025, in New Palestine, IN. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012 and took it on head first. (He often bragged about being hard headed.) For almost 13 more years he laughed, loved, helped raise his sons into men, camped, sky dived, traveled, raced a race car, hiked Diamond Head, cheered on the Colts and Packers, mentored, served his community, and laughed some more.
Scott was born on November 7, 1962 in Terre Haute, IN, to Glenn Carpenter and Kathleen (McAuliffe) Carpenter. He graduated from Terre Haute North High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree from Indiana State University. He worked for over 30 years in Construction and Construction Management where he got to do one of his favorite things - build stuff.
Scott married Debbie (Whipple) Carpenter Jan 4, 2002. They enjoyed Monty Python, spicy chicken, fireworks, go carts, soap carving, and much more with their 3 children Landon Carpenter, Alex Razor, and Aaron Carpenter.
Scott is survived by his wife and children, brothers Kevin Carpenter and Mike (Donna) Carpenter, nieces and nephews, and great niece and great nephews. And soooo many treasured friends, new and old (some really old - you know who you are).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday Jan 30, 2025, at The Barn at SilverStone Farm at 6508 W 100 N, Greenfield IN, 46140 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
