Ronald Marion Doran , 88, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away September 28, 2024 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was born on June 11, 1936 in Peru, Indiana.

Survivors include his son Ronald Doran; daughters, Anna (Charlie) Mathews and Caralee (Wayne) Griffith; sisters Lori Doran and Nancy (Danny) Wenzler; grandchildren David (Kadie) Mathews, Chris (Kayla) Mathews, Tiffany (Brian) Inabnitt and Alex Griffith.  He also has seven great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Loretta Doran, his wife Nancy Doran, his sons Alfred Doran and David Doran and his brother Charles Doran.

Ron (also known to some as Ronnie) served in the United States Air Force and was a proud Veteran.  He retired as a butcher from Cub Foods.  Prior to working there, he worked at Standard Grocery where he met his wife, Nancy.  He marched to the beat of his own drum and liked to do things his own way.  He was silly and creative.  He was always saying "Oh, I can use that for something".  Anyone who knew him, knew that he didn't throw anything away.  He took pride in repurposing everything!  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.  He loved piddling around in the yard and growing plants as well as listening to big band and classical music.

Service will be on Friday, October, 4 2024 at 1:00 pm at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 West US  Hwy 52 , Fountaintown, Indiana 46130 with Visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service at the mortuary.  Officiating the service will be Pastor Mark Kern. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Ron to the Sue Ann Wortman Cancer Center at Hancock Health to honor his family members that have had their battles with cancer.
