Ron Dehaven

November 12, 1957 — May 31, 2019

Indianapolis

Ron DeHaven , 61, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 31, 2019.  He was born November 12, 1957 to Bill and Phyllis DeHaven in Connersville, Indiana.

Ron met his lifelong sweetheart, Joyce (Edmondson) DeHaven in 1973; she was his Murphy he was her Paw.  That great love turned into a marriage ceremony costing $22 and blessed them with loving children and grandchildren.

Ron was a long time resident of Indianapolis and provided for his family by being a meat cutter and truck driver for the majority of his life.  He was a do it yourself man and in his free time you would often find him in the garage tinkering around, there was not much that he could not fix.  Family fishing trips were something that was planned as often as possible and something that he always enjoyed in nice weather.  He enjoyed spending time with his family any chance he got and helping his children with their own home projects as well. He had quite the sense of style and his wife Joyce would describe him as, “his own man”.  He will be watching over the legacy that he helped create within his family.

He will be greatly missed by – his loving wife Joyce (Edmondson) DeHaven; son, Chad (Amy) DeHaven; daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Worley and Courtney (David) DeHaven; his wonderful grandchildren, Mallory DeHaven, Drake DeHaven, Lily Tello, Cameron DeHaven and Olivia Worley; sister Diane (George) Gettinger; along with his garage buddy, Snowball.  He is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Bill and Phyllis DeHaven.
