Robert E. Mays

Robert “Bob” “Bobby” Earl Mays, age 68, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Bobby was the 7th child born to Robert and Louise Mays. He was born at Hancock Memorial Hospital on January 25, 1949. He graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1967.
Bob worked for Chrysler for 31 years as a Tool and Dye machinist and for Richardson’s for 15 years. He enjoyed tinkering with computers, motorcycles, playing pool and spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, taking in many individuals who were down and helping them to get back on their feet again.
Bob is survived by his wife Julie (Bahmforth) Mays of 34 years. His children, Tommy Mays, of Montgomery, Alabama, daughters, Chelsea(Paul) Horn,of Chandler, Arizona and Heidi Mays, of Phoenix, Arizona and John Bahmforth, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Granddaughters, Kelsea(Tyler) Austin of Chandler, Arizona, Taylor Mays (Garrett Manns) of Greenfield, Indiana, Kinnidy Settles of Chandler, Arizona, Kelley Bourne, of Chandler, Arizona, Samantha Horn, of Chandler, Arizona, and Victoria Horn, of Chandler, Arizona. Four Great Grandchildren, Foster Fellez Jr (FJ), of Chandler, Arizona, Aubrey Mays, of Greenfield, Indiana, Jayceon Robert Mays, of Greenfield, Indiana and Delilah Manns of Greenfield, Indiana. Siblings, Bill(Barb) Curry of Greenfield, Mary Anderson, of Greenfield, Jerry(Debbie) Marks of Veivay, Indiana, Richard(Vania) Marks, of Greenfield, Indiana, Sandy(Jerry) Bundy, of Greenfield, Indiana, Jane (James) Hatcher, of Greenfield, Indiana, Rick(Amy) Mays, of Fortville, Indiana, Kim(George) Langston,of Greenfield, Indiana, and Darla(Mike)Roberts of Greenfield, Indiana and many many nieces and nephews. Bob was proceeded in death by his Mother, Louise Mays, his father, Robert Mays, Grandmother, Nellie Marks, brother, Jackie Dale Marks, sister, Darlene Morris and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Realife Church in Greenfield, Indiana at 4:00 pm.
