Robert E. Boyer

Robert E. Boyer (Bob) , 76, of New Palestine, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025 at Morristown Manor.

Bob was born on January 23, 1948 in Gary, IN to William and Carolyn Boyer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruth A Boyer, and children Jacquelyn Boyer (Patty Finley) of Chicago, and Scott Boyer of New Palestine.

Bob graduated from Valparaiso University in 1970. In 1970 he joined the Indiana National Guard and served for 6 years. He earned his CPA license in 1971and worked for Price Waterhouse in Chicago and then the Indianapolis office of the IRS for 30 years. After retirement he established a private tax practice and served as the Sugar Creek Township Trustee for 12 years.

Bob had a lifelong love of firefighting and was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for 50 years, serving in Perry Township, Sugar Creek Township; where he served as chief of Station 1 for several years, and Moral Township.

Bob was an active member of Cross of Grace Lutheran Church, New Palestine, the Moral Township Fire Department, The New Palestine Chamber of Commerce, and the Indiana CPA society.

A celebration of life is planned for January 25, 2025 at Cross of Grace Lutheran Church, with visitation from 9:00am -12:00pm with service and lunch to follow.

Memorial contributions can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association of Indiana.
