Rick S Young

Rick S Young, 75, Shelbyville, Indiana passed away on March 30, 2026, in Shelbyville, Indiana. He was born on January 26, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to his parents Loenard Young and Anna Powers.  

Survivors include his parents Dave & France Powers of Mooresville, Indiana; son Allen (Lisa) Young of Brownsburg, Indiana; step-son Scott (Teresa) Lanning of Bloomington, Indiana and sister Ronda Powers & Mike Brady of Mooresville, Indiana. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren,  one great grandchild and two step great grandchildren that miss him.  

Rick is preceded in death by his wife Dona Young who he loved dearly.

Rick graduated with the Class of 1970 from Mooresville High School in Mooresville, Indiana.  After graduating, he was a dedicated employee for International Harvester/Navistar International for 40 years.  Rick was an avid horseman and loved to go to the horse track.  He never met a stranger and rarely missed an opportunity to talk to people he met on his journey through life.  He enjoyed watching basketball and football with a great deal of enthusiasm especially for Indiana University.  Fond memories are treasured by all that knew Rick.
