Rebecca Lou Blake, known fondly as Becky, passed away on December 17, 2025, in Columbus, Indiana, at the age of 73. Born on July 24, 1952, in Coeburn, Virginia, she lived a life rich in love, service, and enthusiasm for all that she pursued.
For many years, Becky dedicated herself to the field of nursing, applying her caring nature at Metro Health. Her commitment to her profession was surpassed only by the passion she had for her family and friends.
Becky was a proud graduate of Clark College, where she received a solid foundation that launched her into the nursing career she cherished. She was a member of the Eastern Star, a testament to her dedication to community and fellowship.
Known for her vibrant personality, Becky enjoyed many hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had a love for shopping, enjoyed playing the lottery, and looked forward to her visits to the casino. Bowling and fishing were also among her favorite pastimes, as well as traveling to new destinations. Above all, Becky had an unyielding affection for her beloved furbabies and had a distinctive flair for jewelry, always adorning herself with pieces that sparkled as brightly as her spirit. Becky took joy in looking her best, never without her nails and makeup carefully done.
Becky is survived by her loving family, including her husband Richard Blake, children Lori (Brian) Taffe and Traci (Michael) Mills, stepchildren Rick Blake and David McCormack, grandchildren Elizabeth (Tyler) Sturgeon, Justine (Craig) Kidwell, Mikel Mills and Rebecca Jackson, step-grandchildren Megan (Dan) Wager, Amanda Fader, Mallory Alchin, Jordan Sanders, Kyla Lawrence, Justin Blake, Rose Blake, Grace Blake, Sierra Blake, 9 great grandkids and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Jay Creed, as well as her brothers Scotty Creed and Jackie Creed and her stepdaughter LeeAnn Fader Sanders who all welcomed her into eternity.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., both taking place at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, located at 1444 US-52 in Fountaintown, Indiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Steve Dailey. The burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
