Paul Francis Meier, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 89.

Paul was born on June 4, 1937, in Wilton Junction, Iowa, to George Fred Meier and Beulah Grace (Francis) Meier. As a young child, he came to a saving knowledge of the Lord at a camp meeting in North Dakota, and his faith remained a cornerstone of his life throughout his years.

Paul attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, before serving his country in the United States Army, including a tour of duty in Korea.

After returning home from his military service, Paul began a long career with Western Electric, which later became AT&T and eventually Lucent Technologies. After retiring from Lucent, he worked for Bell Mortuary. He was a hardworking and faithful provider for his family.

Paul was the loving husband of Judith Ann (Judy) Meier. Together, Paul and Judy were loving parents who treasured their family. They made sacrifices to provide their children with a Christian education and took great pride in their children and grandchildren. Paul was a caring father and grandfather who was loved and respected by his family and deeply cherished the family God had given him.

Paul was a longtime member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church, where he worshiped for more than 40 years. He later joined Victory Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member. His commitment to the Lord was evident in both his church involvement and the way he lived his life. He faithfully participated in church services and activities, sang in the choir, played trombone in the church orchestra, and even spent time cleaning the church floors.

Paul will be remembered for his deep and enduring faith, his love for Judy and his family, his strong work ethic, and the many memories he created with those he loved.

Paul is survived by his children, Kerry Meier and her husband Timothy, and Mark Meier; his grandchildren, Collin Meier, Addison Meier, and Caelyn Meier; and his siblings, Max Meier, Dwight Meier, and Mark Meier.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Ann Meier, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Judy preceded Paul in death on July 18, 2026. He was also preceded in death by his parents, George Fred and Beulah Grace Meier; his sister, Beulah Meier Coughenour; and his brother, Leland Meier.

As difficult as it is to say goodbye, those who knew and loved Paul can find comfort in knowing that the Lord he loved all his life is with him now. Because of his faith in Christ, we look forward with hope to the day when we will see Paul again in heaven.
