Monte Dale Drake

Monte Dale Drake of Camby, Indiana passed away at the hospital with family by his side on June 19th at the age of 69. Born on March 17, 1957 in Bloomington, Indiana to Leslie and Naomi Drake, Monte was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered for the impact he made on those who knew him and the memories he leaves behind.

Monte is survived by his son, Christopher Drake; his granddaughter Taylor Naomi Drake; his brother David (Christina) Drake; his niece Kristen (Kris) Harden and his great-nephew Gage Landis Harden.  

He is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Drake and his mother Naomi Farmer Drake.  

Monte graduated from Bloomington North High School wtth the Class of 1975.  After school, he was a dedicated employee working tirelessly until his retirement from Fed Ex. He enjoyed the outdoors with a special interest in primitive camping.  His animals were a source of joy for Monte as he cared for them with much love and compassion.  Monte was a sports fanatic, especially for football.  He shared his love of the game by coaching future players in the little league teams.  Being a grandfather was his favorite role in life as his pride and joy was his princess of a granddaughter, Taylor.  
Monte's family and friends will cherish the time they shared with him and hold his memory close in their hearts.  

A Celebration of Life is being planned to honor Monte Drake.  Specific details will be shared with friends and family in the coming days.
