Michael Vincz

Michael Alan Vincz, 66, of Monticello, IN passed away on July 7, 2026 in New Palestine, IN. He was born on June 4, 1960 in Indianapolis, IN.

Survivors include Mother; Sandra Howard, Children; Katie, Michael, and Grace. 2 sisters, 3 Grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by Father; Ronald Victor Vincz, Step-Father; Richard Howard, and a brother.

Mike attended Indianapolis Public Schools, including Crispus Attucks High School, and graduated from North White High School, Monon, Indiana. After graduating he was employed with Pit Stop Pantry, became a commercial truck driver and was a member of Indiana Operators Local 103.

Mike built a life around hard work and the people he loved. Throughout the years he worked for the family business, Pit Stop Pantry, before earning his commercial driver’s license and spending many years as a truck driver.

To know Mike was to know someone who loved being outdoors and rarely passed up an opportunity to be out on the water. Whether boating for fun and teaching people to ski, or driving boats for Indiana Beach Ski Show, he found joy anywhere family and friends came together. He coached his son in youth baseball and watched his daughters and granddaughter cheer. Mike loved to golf, admired cars, and was an avid supporter of Indiana sports teams including the Colts and Pacers, he especially enjoyed the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Music was always a part of Mike’s life. He was a lifelong fan of classic rock, and enjoyed attending Carb Day concerts with his children and grandchildren. During his years as a truck driver, Mike developed an appreciation for country music and could often be found listening to Christian radio, particularly Christian talk programs.

Mike could be cantankerous, funny, and entertaining. He had a gift for making people laugh and loved gathering family and friends around good food, good music, and a good fire, which often turned into storytelling and reminiscing. He believed in taking pride in a job well done – even in the little things- and those who knew him remember the care he took in everything from his work to a freshly mowed lawn. Beneath his rough exterior was a generous heart. He was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need and treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren.

Though Mike’s life was not without hardship, those who knew him best will remember his charisma, adventurous spirit, generosity, sense of humor, the many memories he made with family and friends, and the genuine happiness he found in life’s simple pleasures.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses and arrangements.
