Melissa Susie Hebert, passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 66. She was born on May 30, 1960, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Melissa will be remembered for her loving and generous spirit, and for the deep devotion she carried for her family throughout her life. Her greatest joy was her family, and she especially cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She shared a special bond with her brother Moe’s children, Cody Lee Collins and Shelia Kay Collins, and was known for her selfless heart and her willingness to help others. She also gave her time in service to her community as a volunteer with the Ladies Auxillary Amvets Post 99.
She leaves behind a family who will continue to carry her love with them: her son, Bobby Lee Johnson; her daughter, Sirrenda Johnson; her sisters, Denise Sanders and Merle Sanders; her brothers, Mitchell Collins and Caryn Collins; and her grandchildren, Noah Johnson, Isiah Johnson, and Natalie Moncada. Each of them meant so much to Melissa, and her love for them was a lasting gift.
Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Collins; her mother, Shelia Collins; her grandfather, Charles Lowe; her grandmother, Helen Lowe; her brothers, Daniel “Boonie” Collins and Darrel “Moe” Collins; and her grandson, Alex Moncada. Their memories remained close to her heart, and her family takes comfort in the thought of their reunion.
A quote that reminds her family of Melissa is, “When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.” Those words reflect the place she will always hold in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
