Maurice Robinson

Maurice Robinson, born on July 12, 1952, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on August 22, 2026, in Indianapolis. He will be remembered with love and respect by those who knew him.

Maurice was a talented artist whose creativity was an important part of his life. He appreciated art and loved creating it. It reflected his spirit and personality. His appreciation for artistic expression and his love for the game of basketball were lasting parts of who he was. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie “Homeboy” Robinson; his mother, Lucille Robinson; his brother, Willie Clyde Robinson; and his sister, Gwendolyn Robinson Burnett.

Maurice leaves behind family who will continue to cherish his memory, including his sister, Cynthia (Charles) Ivy, and his brothers, James (Cathline) Robinson and Kerry (Tanya ) Robinson. May they find comfort in the love they shared with him and in the memories that remain.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock, 2310 W Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46222. A funeral service officiated by Dea Robinson will follow from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the same location. After the service, friends and family are invited to the Repast at Kerry's home located at 2950 N. Moreland Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana 46222.

Maurice Robinson’s life and memory will remain in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
