Matthew Priest

Matthew James Priest was born on December 31, 1959 on the cusp of a new decade and a new year. He was born to Arvin and Louise Priest in Indianapolis, IN. He died on July 25, 2026 in Greenfield, IN surrounded by family.

Matthew was a man who loved mechanics, basketball, the outdoors, and his family pets. Matt had a long career as a pump specialist at Reilly Industries and was an active and expressive union member during his time there. The happy memories his family and children have of him were spent on trails, in state parks, swimming, tinkering in the garage on one of his cars, or hearing him get excited watching a Pacers game or a WWE match. He is preceded in death by his mother Flora "Louise" Priest and his father Arvin Willis Priest as well as his brothers Mark and Michael Priest. He is survived by his children Mandi Priest, Marri Hampton, Michele Summers, and Kayla Richards as well as his sister Krista Gilliam and his brother Peter Priest, their respective spouses, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

We live with hopeful expectation because of Matthew's spiritual beliefs that he is surrounded by the grace of Jesus, completely restored, and we give him up into the arms of our loving Savior until we meet again.

Memorial services will be held at Refuge Church with Pastor Jason Hampton officiating at 2273 South Hunter Road Indianapolis, IN 46239 at 11am on Saturday, August 1st with a lunch served afterwards.
