Mary Ann Alford, 78, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on April 19, 2026 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on December 31, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to her parents Ida Mabel and Charles Alford. 

Survivors include her sons Robert (Amy) Truex Jr, Mark Toliver, Mike Toliver, Scott Toliver; daughters Beth Kirves, Ella Keller, Teresa Toliver Ledford, Mary Ann Tolliver Walden; brothers John Alford, David Alford; grandchilidren Mandi (David) Gipson, Gabriel Hernancdez, Ciera Gipson, Todd (Tonya) Gipson, Codey (Kayla) Gipson, Amiee (Spencer) Smith, Terry (Emily) Gipson, Tracy (Daniel) Diaz, Tayna Gipson, Jon Dye, Alex Kirves, Kodie (Stephen) Egner; great grandchildren Isabella (Carmen) Hernandez, Khloe Hernandez, Cruz Hernandez, Dean Gipson, Braxdon Egner, Greyson Blake, Kayliyan Gipson, Cadeyn Gipson, Christian (Tristan) Hernandez, Sam Hernandez, Brooke Sanders, Allysa Gipson, Karma Gipson and great great grandchild Emilio Hernandez.  

Mary is preceded in death by the love of her life Robert Truex Sr, parents Ida Mabel and Charles Alford; grandparents Eliza and William Stewart, Julia Basham and James Monroe Alford, sons Nick Toliver, Chuck Toliver; sisters Janice Alford, brothers Charles Alford, Jay Alford and her grandchildren Angel Gipson and Bentley Gipson.  

Mary was a hard-working loving lady.  She was a dedicated employee and enjoyed a career of 30 years at Anthem as a claims adjuster. Mary loved visiting with her friends and family.  She was often known be taking care of others.  In addition to being a wonderful lady, Mary could be found traveling and trying her luck at the casino.  Her family remembers her as a selfless woman who loved her family and friends deeply.  They also recall that she would help anyone in need.  She will be missed dearly by all those whose hearts she touched.   

A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held on Saturday, May 2nd at 1pm at  Lily Lake Eagle Creek Park.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to 5438 Millhouse Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46221.
