Major Jones, Sr.
August 29, 1940 — March 22, 2006
Most recently employed with the Indianapolis Public School System. He was a member of the Indianapolis Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame on October 1995. He was a IHSAA Basketball official. Survivors include his wife Sue Cosby Jones; ex-wife LaVonia Woods Jones; sons Major Jones, Jr. Brent Jones, Gary Jones, Brian Jones and Tony Jones, step-sons Ronnie Dillon, Carlos Dillon and Justin Byrd; step-daughter Shanell Dillon; two daughters-in-law; brother Fredrick Jones, seven grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by mother, Oddessa Jones, father Horace Jones, Sr.; sister Ardalia Jones Flemming and brothers Horace Jones, Jr. and Herburt Jones
