Madonna Faye (Andis) Willard was born on May 11, 1937, in Fountaintown, Indiana, to Virgil and Lillian Andis. A lifelong learner and dedicated student, she graduated as Valedictorian from Morristown High School in 1955. Soon after, she married her high school sweetheart, Frank Willard, beginning a loving partnership that would span nearly 70 years.
Her professional life reflected the same commitment she brought to her family. She worked for 29 years at Eli Lilly and Company, retiring in 1991. Earlier in her career, she served as a secretary for an attorney in Shelbyville.
Beyond her career, she found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures—tending her flower gardens, reading a good book, cheering on the Indiana Pacers, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Frank cherished their winters in Florida, creating years of warm memories together.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Frank; her sons, Greg (Teresa) and Kevin (Terri); her sisters, Kay Boring and Brenda Keffaber; her brother, Steve Andis; and her seven grandchildren: Grant (Lacey), Jason (Tami), Jaret (Dawn), Traci (Christoph) Verstegen, Lindsay (Brett) Willard, Lora Steele, and Daniel (Sheila). She also leaves behind six treasured great-grandchildren: Kylah, Jaxson, Presley, Bailey, Jayden, and Mason.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Lillian Andis, her sister, Deanna Appleby; and her grandson, Aaron Willard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 W. U.S. 52, Fountaintown, Indiana 46130, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morristown Christian Church, where she valued the fellowship and community she found there.
