Lynne Adele Weyrauch

February 7, 1953 — December 28, 2025

Lynne Adele (Moore) Simon Weyrauch, 72, passed peacefully in her home in New Palestine, Indiana, surrounded by her daughter and grandsons, on December 28, 2025 at 5:40 a.m. She was born February 7, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Bedford Huddleston Moore and Dorothy Moore.

Lynne is survived by her devoted daughter, Lori Simon; her beloved grandsons, Liam and Knox Atkinson; and her cherished step-daughter, Julie Sund, along with Julie’s husband, Scott Sund, and their children, Kenny, Hannah, and Theo, whom Lynne loved as her own family. She is also survived by her treasured niece Debbie, who was raised alongside her like a sister and remained her closest friend. Debbie was able to spend Lynne’s final week by her side — a gift Lynne held close to her heart. Lynne is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bedford and Dorothy Moore, and her siblings Joann, Jack, Bill, and Danny.

Lynne grew up in Indianapolis and began her career at Regency Electronics, where she quickly became everyone’s favorite engineer’s assistant. She later worked for the Ford Motor Company on English Avenue, staying until the building itself closed. From there, she found her true calling as an educational assistant, working with a young man she loved dearly, which led her to the New Palestine School Corporation. There, she had the special joy of working alongside her daughter and grandsons and became “Mamaw” not only to them, but to countless children who were lucky enough to know her. To coworkers, students, and parents, Lynne was warm & kind, her infectious laugh was something everyone adored. New Palestine loved her more than she ever knew.

As a mother, Lynne was more than Lori could have ever asked for — and far more than she ever believed she deserved. Her life revolved around Lori’s dance and cheerleading, with years of practices, rehearsals, and competitions filled with her constant presence and support. Through every season of life, even the hardest ones, Lynne stood faithfully by her daughter’s side, making sure she never fell too far. Lori believes with her whole heart that without her mother’s love, she might not be here today.

And then Lynne became the world’s best grandmother. Every breath she took was for Liam and Knox. She helped raise them into the wonderful young men they are today, spending countless hours in bleachers, on basketball courts, and on baseball fields — never missing a game, not even during her hardest days of chemotherapy. Her love for those boys knew no limits.

Lynne was more than a safe place — she was everything. She was the matriarch of her family, the Mamaw of the school, the heart of every room she entered, and the love that held so many people together.

Her legacy is carried forward in every life she touched and every heart she held.
