Lorraine M. Simpson , 75, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on June 20, 2025.
She was a loving mother of two children. Lorraine was born August 6, 1949, in Brockton, Massachusetts to Mary Ann Holloway and Howard Holloway known as Happy or Hap from his contagious smile. Her nicknames were Lori and Rainey.
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Lorraine M. Simpson. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends in her final moments. She will always be remembered as a kind, benevolent, compassionate, and loving woman who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She never knew a stranger and made friends wherever she went.
She welcomed people with open arms and was a social butterfly. She had a heart of gold, beautiful inside and out. She would always say where there is a will there is a way, what was impossible, she made possible.
Lorraine had an east coast accent, a contagious laugh, she was an honest person, she loved the casino. She would hide her winnings majority of the time in her bible. She was competitive, she loved to play cards, poker, rummy, euchre, 10 thousand, and many more. She loved doing crossword puzzles as well.
She lived in many states Massachusetts, Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, but lived in Indianapolis, Indiana majority of her life.
She created her own family here in Indianapolis, you did not have to be blood to be family in her eyes. She established relationships with three ladies that were her sisters by love Ginger Parker, Cathy Thomas Bryant, and Lida Faye Dunn. Robert Hopkins was her best friend. She was crazy in love with her puppy Toby Jo.
