Loistine Anne (Greene) Smith, 96, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Avon, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 18, 1930, in Danville, Indiana to Christopher and Bessie Mae Greene. She spent her youth on a farm in Danville and was a graduate of Danville High School. She moved to Indianapolis to attend Indiana Business College and work at Tanner and Company as a secretary.
She married Norman E. Smith in June of 1955 and had three children, Debra, Lisa and Kevin, whom they raised in Speedway, Indiana.
Anne was a devoted mother and wife. She was known for her sweet and kind disposition and often called Saint Anne. She was a baker extraordinaire: her apple pies and banana cakes cannot be duplicated. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes, not only for herself but for her girls. She loved gardening and had beautiful flowers surrounding her home and a huge vegetable garden in the backyard. She was a faithful member of the Clermont Church of the Nazarene.
Celebration of Life will be on May 2, 2026, at the Clermont Church of the Nazarene 3330 1st Ave, Clermont, IN 46234 at 1:00PM. Officiating will be Pastor Jeff L. Bladen.
Anne is survived by her daughters, Debra Smith (Pam) and Lisa Bowman; her son, Kevin Smith (Charity); her sister-in-law, Donna Reinbold (James); her grandchildren, Kara Spencer (Lucas), Alyssa Hammond (Jameson), Jacob Smith, Logan Spratt, Abby Smith; great-grandchildren, Lainey Spencer, Krew Spencer, Trace Hammond, Olenna Hammond; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Smith; her parents, Christopher and Bessie Mae Greene; her siblings, Carl Greene (Mary), Elmo Greene (Frances), Robert Greene (Mildred), Maebelle Vaughn (Edward), Kyle Greene (Charlotte) and her twin sister, Christine Huggler, (Francis); her son-in-law, Jeff Bowman.
Anne will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
