Linda Jean Roberts

May 1, 1945 — August 11, 2025

Linda J. (Turner) Roberts, age 80, of New Palestine, peacefully passed away August 11, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on May 1, 1945, in Indianapolis as the daughter of Claude B. and Edna M. (Showers) Turner. She graduated from Howe High School in 1964. Upon graduation, she worked at Indiana Bell Telephone Company as a Switchboard Operator; Lane Bryant Corporate and was a stay-at-home mom during her children’s elementary school years.

She was a member of Emerson Avenue Baptist Church for much of her early adulthood and became a member of Calvary Baptist Church for the past 25 years. She loved the Lord and spent time in her bible and praying often. Linda especially loved her church family and volunteered many hours helping with luncheons and outreach activities in the church.

Linda never met a stranger and could literally make a friend just about anywhere she went. Throughout her battle with Parkinson’s Disease, she brought such encouragement and hope to those in her Rock Steady Boxing and Parkinson’s Support Group. She enjoyed her flower gardens, short day trips with friends, and spending time with her family. Most precious was the time she got to spend with her grandchildren before the disease had advanced. She could be quite the comic at times too. Even towards the end, she brought laughter and smiles to the aides, caregivers and Hospice nurses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ed and John Turner; sister-in-law Shirley Turner; niece, Janice Brown; and many very special friends that passed away much too soon.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 51 years, Raymond Roberts, Jr. of New Palestine; children, Amy (Ryan) Scott of New Palestine, Jason (Cari) Roberts of New Palestine, Justin Roberts of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Evan and Brayden Scott; Madison and Kasen Roberts; Noah and Garrett Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.
