Kenneth Tibbetts

August 25, 1939 — August 26, 2012

Kenneth Norman Tibbetts was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August
25th 1939 and passed away in Indianapolis, Indiana on August
26th 2012. Ken passed away after battling a prolonged illness. He
passed away in the loving presence of his son Bryan Tibbetts and
other family members.
Ken had a remarkable music skill and was noted for playing chords
on the electric base on his lap with one hand while playing licks on
the keyboard with the other, then alternating, all while singing at
the same time. You can hear this remarkable feat for yourself on
the album Melting Pot performing the song “Feelin Alright”.
He recorded and toured with many popular blues, jazz, and
southern rock groups most notably James Brown, Greg Allman,
the Allman Brothers, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Roy
Buchanan, and Lonnie Mac. His biggest work goes mostly
unnoticed except for the recording industry as that was where he
shined. He has laid down more music tracks than there are months
in an average lifetime. He retired from music in the late 70’s and
went on to work in the printing business.
He was well traveled and lived in many states but he always
returned home to be with family.
He was a fun guy to be around and was a very likeable person.

Burial will be at New Crown Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN
