Judith Rae Anderson (Judy) of Greenfield Indiana passed away peacefully in her home on January 2, 2023 surrounded by her family and her beloved kitty Sumiko. She was born in Indianapolis Indiana on December 30, 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Anderson and her brother John Palmer. Judy is survived by her daughters Robin Eller (Russ), Dawnette Golay (Chris Hamstra), grandchildren Mitchell Miller, Madison Miller, Collin Eller, Gabriel Miller, Charlotte Miller, Avery Eller, Tessa Eller, nieces/nephew Christine Palmer, Doug Palmer, Jeanette Palmer (Steve Howard), Jennifer McMullen, great granddaughters Rayne Miller and Willow Lopez and cat, Sumiko.
Judy was an accomplished musician who taught music and played on the worship team for her church after her retirement. Before retirement, she had a career as a legal assistant. Judy loved animals and growing flowers and plants. Many a stray cat found their way to her and lived like royalty for the rest of their lives. She volunteered for various animal rescue organizations, the Indianapolis Zoo, Meals on Wheels of Hancock County and Hancock Regional Hospital (playing the piano). She was an associate of the Sisters of St. Francis in Oldenburg Indiana and a certified Reiki Master. Judy was always ready with a funny joke and loved to laugh with her family, neighbors and friends.
Her family would love to have you join them for A Celebration Of Her Life at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel on Saturday January 7, 2023 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm located at 1444 West US Hwy 52, Fountaintown Indiana 46130. This will be an informal gathering for reminiscing with her friends and family. We will be playing the blues (her favorite music genre) and at 6:00pm will begin a time to tell funny stories involving Judy. All are welcome to participate or write down a story that can be read. We also plan to have BBQ and sides prepared by her wonderful neighbors/friends the Fords. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hancock County Humane Society or Partners for Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.).
