John D. Covert

John D. Covert , 59, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on March 24, 2020.  He was born on October 29, 1960 to Nancy (Robbins) Covert.  John is survived by wife, Melissa (Lisa) (Scott) Covert; sons, James (Kelly) Thompson, Michael (Chondra) Thompson; daughter, Crystal (Robert) Thompson; mother-in-law, Phyllis Coffey Scott; sisters, Laura (Melissa), Julie Covert; brothers, Alan, James, William Covert; grandchildren, Shelby, Cassy, JJ, (Katlyn), Jose, Nick, Lexi, Andrew, Star, Phillip, and Silas; great-grandchildren, AJ,  Celi, Areya, Elianna, Aliyah and Zayda; nephews, Chris, Matt, Jimmy, Brian.  He had many loved foster children closer to his heart, was, Arturo, Antonio, and Anye’a.  His nick names were Dug and Papaw.  John earned several  Sales awards.  He also worked at USA Insulation.  John enjoyed a good game of cards, fishing with grandchildren,  cooking and being with friends. Quote from the family, “In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still.  In our hearts you hold a place, no one else can ever fill."

Services will be private on Monday, March 30, 2020.
