Joan Strangephipps

Joan passed away after a long battle with cancer, March 17, 2009. She was born to Terrance A. and Margaret Carrico Strange. She attended St. John Grade School and St. John High School in Loogootee, Indiana and graduated from Loogootee High School in 1970. She also attended Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana and graduated in 1975. She worked in the insurance industry in Indianapolis, Indiana and retired in 2007. Joan was a very kind and generous person supporting many churches and not for profit organizations in the Indianapolis area. Joan is survived by her mother Margaret Strange of Bramble, Indiana, by brother Mark Strange of Montgomery, IN, her personal caregiver her nephew Patrick O'Brien of Indianapolis, IN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Terrance A. Strange of Bramble, IN, two brothers Thomas B. Strange of Tacoma Park, Maryland and Jeff J. Strange of Bramble, IN and two sisters Mary T. Bohr of Orange Park, FL and Janet L. Comeyne of Bowie, Maryland. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Joseph Church or charity of your choice. Arrangements are being made through the Brocksmith Funeral Home in Loogootee, Indiana.
