Jewell Jones, 81, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Greenfield, IN.

Jewell is survived by sons, Ben Jones, Theadore Jones & Carlos Jennings Sr.; daughter, Jennifer Jones; daughters-in-law, Stephanie Hart-Jones, Shawn Jennings, Alta Jennings, Tonya Jones; grandsons, Benjamin Jones II, Carlos Jennings jr, Deryc Jennings jr, Christian Jennings, Abdul-Hakeem Jones, Napata Jones; granddaughters, Destiny Jennings, Khia Jennings, Aja Jennings, Amirah Jones McCord, Maya Ealy, Kira Ealy, Jayla Ealy, Milan McCord, Kiana Jones, Napata Jones & Nzinga Jones.

Jewell is preceded in death by parents Luther & Gertrude Carter; son Deryc Jennings.

From Sunday trips to the local reservoir, to feeding the birds, to years of visits to the zoo, her love for animals was clearly practiced, not just spoken. Her heart held a special love for all animals. Jewell also found joy in singing and listening to old gospel music and devoted time to reading and researching the Bible and regularly attended church.

Celebration of life held for Jewell Jones will be held on January 29, 2026, at the CITY OF LAWRENCE COMMUNITY CENTER, Location: 5301 N Franklin Road, Lawrence, IN 46226 from 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.
