Jerry Nelson

Jerry Nelson , 86, passed away on March 1, 2025, in Indianapolis, IN.

Jerry is survived by his wife Carolyn Nelson, brothers Carl Nelson and Butch(Sheila) Nelson, sister Gay(Jack) Thompson, sons Ronald(Kimmie) Nelson and Rodney Nelson, daughter Lorie(James) Nelson, granchildren Brian(Kate) Nelson, Andrew(Jessica) Nelson, Meagan(Seth) Evans, Lindsay(Candace) Nelson-Jones, Lizibeth Anderson, Alex(Mikah) Nelson, Nick Nelson, and many great grandchildren who he referred to as his yay-hoos.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother Clova Nelson and father Edward Nelson as well as his brother Roger Nelson, sister Patricia Wallace, and sister-in-law Sandra Wilhite.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was one of the hardest working people who went above and beyond his entire life to make sure everyone else was taken care of. If you never got to witness his belly laughs while watching wrestling, watch an intense Cardinals game or NASCAR race, especially the Jeff Gordon era, or have a road trip car concert featuring Bruce Springsteen with him you truly missed out. He had a great sense of humor and always found a way to make you laugh. The world was truly a better place with him in it and he will be terribly missed.

Jerry's celebration of life will be March 6, 2025, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Bell Mortuary and Crematory, Royster- Askin-Sandrock, 2310 W Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46222.
