Jeff Land, 70 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2026. He was born on November 9, 1955 in Indianapolis to Rose Deaton, and attended Arsenal Tech and John Marshall High Schools. After serving in the army at age 18, he was employed by Gary Hill as a trim carpenter for over 30 years. He loved his job and took a lot of pride in it.
Jeff was quite talented at woodworking, creating beautiful custom pieces. He was down to earth and made people laugh with his off-kilter sense of humor. He enjoyed comic books, movies, music, and crossword puzzles.
He was devoted to his loving wife of 25 years, Anita (English) Land, and cherished his time with his sister Darlene Smith and Earl Landwerlen. Jeff treasured his visits with his lifelong best friend Charlie Hiles, which he carried on weekly for years almost without fail. He is also survived by his wife's children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Rose Deaton, brother Jim Land, and sister Teresa Friel.
Jeff will forever be loved and remembered.
In keeping with Jeff's wishes, his life will be celebrated privately with no formal services.
