Janis Ann Jordan

Janis Ann Jordan of New Palestine, formerly of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at age 71.  She passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

Janis was born on January 19, 1953 to James Junior and Phyllis Ann Taylor in Gary, Indiana.  She grew up in Chesterton, Indiana with her older brother Paul.  She graduated from Chesterton High School in 1971, and was married to Shawn Patrick Jordan on March 24, 1973 in Chesterton.

She was known to many as Jan, and was a kind and outgoing person.  She loved talking to friends and family at gatherings.  She was fiercely loyal to her children and grandchildren, and never missed attending an art, music, or sporting event to show them support.

Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Janis leaves behind her husband Shawn, sons Chad (Kristen) and Kyle (Kristin), her five grandchildren, her brother Paul, and four grand-dogs.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 11am-12pm, followed by a memorial service and brief reception.  Services will be held at New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 S 500 W, New Palestine, IN, 46163. Officiating will be pastor Anthony Stone.
