Survivors include, wife, Bonnie Lisa Brown, son, John (Amethyst) Brown, Jeremy (Mindy) Edwards; daughters, Jodie (Kenis) Lollar, Julie (Larry) Barnes; grandkids, Jeremiah, Miranda, Joseph, Jonathon, James III, Ben, CJ, Liam, Thomas, John II, Hayden, Addilyn, Kindalyn; bestfirends, "PR", Melvin Mckinney, Randall Hughes.

Preceded in death by son James Brown II; parents, Robert & Betty Brown; in-laws, John & Mary Conningham, Whitey Gross; stepdad, Harold; brothers, Robert Jr. & Steve; sisters, Kathy & Peggy; grandsons, Shane & Reagan; bestfriends, Charlie Pharr, Alan Mayes; many friends & other family members.

James liked "blondes, brunettes, & redheads", motorcycles & working on cars. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids along with aggravating his wife. When he was younger he would moon people, climb trees and dump buckets of water on unsuspecting people.

Visitation will be held on January 3, 2023 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, 2310 W Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46222.
