Hobart "Hobie" G. Lankford , 76, of New Palestine, IN passed away January 16, 2017 at his home. He was born October 10, 1940 in Clay City, IN, to parents Hobart Lankford and Ruth Vogel. He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Nugent) Lankford; sons, Rob Lankford, Kirk Lankford; daughter, Holly (Glen) Johnson; brother, David Bailey; grandchildren, Thom (Natasha) Lankford, Chase Johnson, Adalyn Johnson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jerry Lankford.
Hobart was retired from the Ford Motor Company. He was also a member of the National Air Guard. He enjoyed weight lifting and going to the Heidleberg Café.
Services will be Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 South 500 West, New Palestine, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00 until the time of service at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Wesler.
