Harold Gene Campbell, 94, New Palestine, Indiana passed away on March 25, 2026 with his family by his side at his residence in New Palestine. He was born on January 21, 1932 in Hazard, Kentucky to Herbert and Lenora Campbell.
Survivors include Harold's loving wife Gloria Campbell, his daughter Barbara (Tony) Stone; sons Steven Campbell and Richard Campbell; brother Charles Campbell and sister Sharon Upchurch. Harold is also missed by his granddaughter Kaetlynn (Sean) LeJeune and her brother Dakota Sanders who were lovingly raised by Harold and Gloria as if they were both their own children. In addition, he leaves behind his great grandson Anthony Blythe as well as numerous relatives and friends who will miss Harold dearly.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Lenora Campbell, sisters Wilma McGlaughlin and Janice Long; brother Owen Campbell and sons Russell Brown and Michael Campbell.
Harold will always be remembered as a wonderful man who never met a stranger. Anyone who knew him knew that he was so kind and loving. He was funny and sometimes particular. His granddaughter has fond memories of teaching her how to ride her bike, fish, play basketball, garden, and so many other interests that he shared with her. He attended every school field trip and every program often making friends with people at those events. Harold served his country and was a humble Veteran. He spent his career as a Millwright at the Ford Motor Company where he made lifelong friends. Harold was truly a shining light in the hearts of all that knew him.
Service will be Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, 1444 W US HWY 52, Fountaintown, Indiana, 46130 with Pastor Nanette Weesner officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the mortuary. Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine, Indiana.
