Gary "Punkin" Allen Smith

Gary "Punkin" Allen Smith , 67, was born on June 2, 1952 in Glasgow, KY.  Survivors include wife; Virginia Lynn Smith, whom he married on September 25, 1971.  They had six kids Dawn (Joe) Whalen, Jack (Kara) McClara, William "Billy" McClara, Christina (Rob) Smith McFarland, Gary (Nay) Smith, Jr., and Tricia (Jorge) Smith, 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, two brothers; Eddie and Larry, and two sisters; Janet and Judy. .  We also can't forget Dad's prize possession Lupin his Husky. He was preceded in death by his mother; Doris Evelyn Groce-Smith and father; James Wesley Smith, and a brother; Jerry Dale Smith.

Gary retired from USF Holland Trucking in 2018 and was a long time member of the Teamsters 135. He enjoyed music and was able to play several instruments.  Everyone will remember Gary as quite the comedian.

Services will be on Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster-Askin-Sandrock Chapel, 2310 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN  46222. Burial will follow at New Crown Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.
