Indianapolis

“Jason” Galen L. Byers passed away on February 11th, at I.U. Methodist hospital. Born at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio, on March 2nd, 1971. Jason was a son, a brother, a father, and an uncle.

He is survived by his mother, Sherri Riley, his sister, Misty (Danny) Smetzer, his daughters, Presley Hill and Carly Jordan, his nieces, and nephew and several grand nieces and nephews.

Jason was a wonderful musician who found passion and peace in music, with the guitar being his favorite instrument. He was a patient teacher of music for those fortunate enough to learn from him. He was an artist who liked to draw and later expressed his art through custom designs for his guitars. He had a deep love for his daughters, Presley and Carly, a wonderful friendship with his niece, Brianna Smetzer and was a musical inspiration to his niece, Sierra Smetzer.

Many people will remember him as a friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

As we remember Jason, we celebrate a life well-lived and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will endure in the stories shared and the music played in his honor.

Arrangements handled by Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Royster- Askin-Sandrock Chapel, 2310 W. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46222.
