Fannie Geneva Harrington ,100, of Greenfield, IN, passed away Sunday, May 20th, 2018 at Springhurst Health Campus, Greenfield, IN.

She was born August 17th, 1917 in Daviess County, IN. Fannie was the daughter of Isaac and Martha Grace Allison. She was one of six children and grew up on her father’s farm in Washington, Indiana.

Fannie was married on September 25th, 1938 to Claude “Chuck” Harrington. After having been happily married for 35 years, Chuck preceded her in death in May of 1973. Fannie is survived by three of her children: Patrick (Donna) Harrington; Paul (Kathy) Harrington; Claudia (Richard) Niehaus. She was recently preceded in death by her son, Michael L. Harrington. Fannie has 4 grandchildren: Chris (Gwen) Harrington, Lisa Harrington, Gregory (Alisha) Niehaus, William (Kristin Lamb) Niehaus; and three great grandchildren: Austin Harrington, Ian Harrington and Shawn Niehaus.

A homemaker for most of her life, Fannie was a member of the Hancock County Extension Buckcreek Homemakers Club where she served as Secretary/Treasurer for several years.  At home, Fannie enjoyed tending her flower beds and took great pride in her vegetable gardens. She was an avid reader and enjoyed western novels and also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. During her retirement years she took classes in free hand oil painting and enjoyed creating outdoor scenes, as she was especially fond of painting barns. Fannie also enjoyed watching her birdfeeders and collected cardinal and song bird ornaments and figurines.

Funeral arrangements are being made through Bell Mortuary, 1444 W US Hwy 52, Fountaintown, IN. At Fannie’s request there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be a private graveside service, family only.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions could be made in Fannie's name to your favorite charity.
