Earl Leon Furr

Earl Leon Furr, 88, Whiteland, Indiana passed away on May 9, 2026 with his family by his side at his residence in Whiteland, Indiana. He was born on September 18, 1937 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Albert Furr and Edith Martin.

Survivors include sons Earl (Teri) Furr, Jr, Bill (Dawn) Furr, Gregg Furr; daughters Judy (Butch) McCarter, Donna (Jim) Meeks, LouAnne (Tim) Neat and Linda Lutz. He leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren who loved him dearly.

Earl is preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Furr; his parents Albert Furr and Edith Martin; his brothers Edward Furr, Robert Furr and Harold Furr as well as his sister Pearl Furr and his grandson Joshua Neat.

Earl graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. He then spent his career of 38 years working at General Motors. He wins the award from his family as #1 Father and Husband. He was a faithful member of Grace Point Church and the Baxter YMCA. Earl loved the majestic eagle and had quite a collection of them in various forms. He found so much joy in raising his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Together they created cherished memories. Earl served in his church and dedicated his life to God. When he wasn't busy serving others he could be found playing a friendly game of Euchre. Earl Furr, Jr does fondly remember him telling them often, "Shut the light off, you weren't raised in a barn!" Earl's most loved verse that he lived his life by is Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Service is Friday, May 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm a Grace Point Church, 330 W. Whiteland Road, Whiteland, Indiana with Pastor Dow Boyer officiatng. Vistitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at the Grace Point Church. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
