Douglas Ryan Wheeler, 52, Greenfield, Indiana, passed away at home, Sunday, April 26,2026. He was born March 25,1974, in Indianapolis, to James William and Terri (Lasiter) Wheeler.

Doug graduated from New Palestine High School. He also attended Warren Central where he learned the ins and outs of auto body repair. He had a deep love of classic cars having owned a classic Mustang and a Plymouth Satellite during his lifetime. He was a jack of all trades and worked on local farms while in high school, Hardee’s, and previously ran printing presses for The Daily Reporter and Walle Corporation. He also worked in varieties of construction throughout the years. Later in life, he found solace in painting, growing various plants, listening to music, quick trips around Indiana including favorites Spring Mill State Park and West Baden Springs Hotel. He had a great love of animals especially fur babies- Bentley (Australian Sheperd),Askum (black cat) and Muffin (black cat).

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Mary (Young), daughter, Nicole (Alex), mother, Terri, brothers Jim(Renee),Jeff (Laura), Mark and 3 nieces and 6 nephews.

He was proceeded in death by grandparents, William and Myrtle Wheeler and Samuel and Martha Lasiter, father ,James William Wheeler, brother, Samuel Martin Wheeler and nephew Benjamin Hamaker.

“Doug, If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, Keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever.”

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bell Mortuary &Crematory, 1444 W US HWY 52, Fountaintown, Indiana, 46130.
