Douglas Alan Herron

Douglas Alan  Herron , 76, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his residence in New Palestine, IN.  He was born on July 30, 1941 in Harvey, IL to the late Willis Charles and Ruby A. (Hand) Herron.

Survivors include son; Steve and Jill Herron of New Palestine, IN, daughters;  Cindy (Mark) Woodward of New Palestine, IN, and Kathy (Faut) Collins of New Palestine, and grandchildren; Angie Armstrong, Ryan Collins, Amy Herron, Brian Woodward, Katie Herron, Lucas and Kurt Woodward, great grandchildren; Caleb, Olivia and Lauren Dickson, Mackenzie Collins, Lilly Armstrong, and Callen Dickson.  Preceded in death by his wife; Wilma F. (Ashworth) Herron, parents, sister; Muriel Titus, brother; Charles Joseph Herron and a step-brother; David Johnston.

Doug was a US Army Veteran and loved spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, antiques, basketball games, garage sales, and restoring pedal tractors.

Services will be on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 1:00pm in Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, 1444 West US Hwy 52, Fountaintown, IN  46130.  Visitation will be from 11:00am up until time of service at the mortuary.  Burial will be in the New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine, IN.
