Donald Lee Farquer (81) “Don”, known to many as “Juicer” and to others as "Fuzz", of Fountaintown, Indiana, passed away on June 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by loving family. He was born in Marathon, Ohio on January 21, 1944, to John Robert and Marjorie Farquer. He joined the United States Marine Corps and after being honorably discharged went on to become a skilled carpenter who built and repaired homes and garages in the community. Don met and married in the 1960s Phyllis Jean Helsley (deceased), the mother of their two children, Deborah K. Lakes (Farquer) and Phillip Gene Farquer. Don and Phyllis amicably divorced after 10 years of marriage.
Don worked hard and played even harder. Don especially loved riding his motorcycle and drinking Bud Light while fishing and hunting. Don met the love of his life, Melanie Farquer (Courtois) in Daytona, Florida in the early 2000s and wed in Fountaintown, Indiana on July 3, 2010. They have spent their days together riding motorcycles, gardening and working side by side.
Don was also an active member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the local VFW reminiscing about their service days.
Don was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Marjorie and John Robert Farquer, brothers, Richard, Bill and John Farquer, and sister, Jean Gooding. He is survived by his wife, Melanie Farquer, children, Deborah K. Lakes and Phillip Gene Farquer and their families, his brother, Sylvester Pat Farquer, and his sister Brenda Sue Roach (Farquer).
A graveside service will be held at Fountaintown Cemetery, 147 E Brookville Rd Fountaintown, IN 46130 on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 1:00PM. Celebration of Life will follow after graveside service. Officiating will be Charlie Short.
